Beauty is the outcome. Health is the purpose.
A Personal Letter from Me to You
If you've landed on this page, more than likely you are looking for an interior designer. First, welcome. I'm genuinely grateful you've taken the time to visit.
Choosing a designer is no small decision. Every firm has a different style, process, fee structure, and level of experience. It can feel overwhelming.
As I reflected on this letter, something occurred to me. In more than twenty years as an interior designer, not one prospective client has ever asked me the question that matters most.
"Why did you become an interior designer?"
If you're interviewing designers, I believe it should be one of the first questions you ask.
So let me answer it the simplest way I can… with my mantra.
Beauty is the outcome. Health is the purpose.
I am certified in neuroaesthetics and biophilic design. Those disciplines study how our surroundings influence the brain, the body, and our overall well-being. They have given scientific language to something I had sensed throughout my entire career: our homes have the power to shape how we feel, think, heal, and connect.
A home should never be a collection of beautiful things. It should be a deeply personal reflection of the people living within so their physical and mental health is fully supported.
That begins with an honest conversation. I will ask what brings you peace, what creates stress, your personal history and what story your life holds. I must understand, as best I can, what feels beautiful to you from a conscious and subconscious perspective. I will share with you the power nature plays to unlock the key to wellness living. Talk of square footage, number of rooms or furniture is the backstory.
To begin the trusted conversation, let me tell you who I am and where all of this started for me.
I grew up the youngest of four children in a Naval family. My father proudly served as a career Commander in the United States Navy, completing four tours in Vietnam. My mother was an extraordinary woman who raised four children through countless moves and long deployments, often with very little money. Together they taught us integrity, humility, honor, and resilience.
My mother loved telling the story that before the moving truck had even pulled away, I already had my bedroom arranged. It wasn’t that I was an interior designer at age 9, it was that I was building a sense of definition and stability for myself. Every move meant a new school, new friends, and another unfamiliar house. Creating my room became my way of creating peace. No matter where we lived, my mother's home was always filled with warmth, beauty, and love. Home became our anchor.
Years later, when I raised four children of my own, I saw that same truth unfold again. Each child was different, and each deserved a space that reflected who they were. Our home wasn't simply where we lived. It was where we gathered, celebrated, healed, and grew.
This journey led me to interior design school and the founding of my firm in 2005.
For more than two decades, I have watched thoughtfully designed homes change people's lives. My certification in neuroaesthetics and biophilic design didn't change my philosophy—it validated it.
Today my greatest responsibility is not choosing beautiful fabrics or furniture. It is creating an environment that supports your well-being while reflecting your unique definition of beauty.
Over countless projects, I have built a process that I am extremely proud of-smooth, concise, and organized saving everyone involved time, money and stress.
When your project is completed, I wont ask you “how does it look”, I will ask you “how does it feel.”
If these values resonate with you,
I can’t wait to have that first conversation.
Warmly,
