A Personal Letter from Me to You
If you've landed on this page, more than likely you are looking for an interior designer. First, welcome. I'm honored you took time to visit my site.
Choosing a designer is no small decision. Every firm has a different style, process, fee structure, and level of experience. It can feel overwhelming.
As I write this, it occurs to me that over the last 20 years, not one prospective client has ever asked me
"Why did you become an interior designer?"
If you're interviewing designers, this should be your first question.
Here is my simple answer for you.
Beauty is the outcome. Health is the purpose.
I am certified in neuroaesthetics and biophilic design. These disciplines study how our surroundings influence the brain, the body, and our overall well-being. These two disciplines have given scientific language to something I have witnessed throughout my entire career: our homes have the power to shape how we feel, think, heal, and connect.
For over two decades I have witnessed interior design change lives. It is here I can assure you, my certification in neuroaesthetics and biophilic design didn't change my philosophy—it validated it.
To achieve this, it begins with an honest conversation. I move beyond square footage, number of rooms or elementary discussions of furniture. I want to understand what brings you peace, what causes you stress, environments that best relax you and stories of your personal history. These conversations assist me in a deeper understanding of how your brain perceives beauty from both a conscious and subconscious perspective.
MY PERSONAL JOURNEY WITH DESIGN
I grew up the youngest of four children in a Naval family. My father proudly served as a career Commander in the United States Navy, completing four tours in Vietnam. My mother was an extraordinary woman who raised four children through countless moves and long deployments, often with very little money. Together they taught us integrity, humility, and honor.
Life as a Navy brat was not easy. I was in four different school systems in the fourth grade. My mother loved telling the story that before the moving truck had even pulled away, I had my bedroom arranged. It wasn’t that I was an interior designer at age 9, it was that I was building a sense of stability and personal peace. Every move meant a new school, new friends, and another unfamiliar house but through it all, my mother’s home was always filled with a feeling of visual warmth, nature and love. Her home was our anchor and my love affair with space began.
Years later, when we raised four children of my own, I saw that same truth unfold again. Each child was different, and each deserved a space that reflected who they were. Our home wasn't simply where we lived. It was where we gathered, celebrated, healed, and grew.
That journey led me to interior design school & founding of my firm in 2005.
MY MISSION TODAY
Beauty is the outcome. Health is the purpose.
Today my greatest responsibility is not choosing beautiful fabrics or furniture. It is creating an environment that supports your well-being while reflecting your unique definition of beauty.
Over countless projects, I have built a process that I am extremely proud of-smooth, concise, and organized. These factors along save time and money while reducing stress.
When your project is completed, I wont ask you “how does it look”, I will ask you “how does it feel.”
If these values resonate with you, I can’t wait to have that first conversation.
Warmly,
